Hector Plasm - PROCESS by korintic Hector Plasm - PROCESS by korintic
Here is a process piece showing the initial drawing/inks/flats/colors of the Hector Plasm fanart piece I just posted.

Hector Plasm is a great comicbook by Nate Bellegarde and Benito Cereno.

May I know how many layers was that? I usually go about 10 to 20 layers, I'm starting to think I should do more.

I try to stay under 10. I think this one had about 6 or so counting the flats layer and lineart.

Very well, this proves that amonut of layers is entirely due to preference, not due to what it is that we want to draw. I have some nice dry prastels to play around with, but when on holidays it is hard to find will to do anything but sleep hehe.

Yeah I just like to keep things manageable. It's definitely about what works best with your particular work process. Obviously coloring inked lineart like I mostly do is different from all out digital painting.
